Abstract:
Many shopkeepers cannot provide security to their valuables at night, so intruders can break into without being noticed. However, previously, other technicians were able to design a shadow alarm using a photo diode sensor where by, when an intruder blocks the light from an IR beam, the photo diode acts as an open circuit.
In this project, a system based on an opto sensitive phototransistor has been designed. This opto sensitive system will sound an alarm whenever a shadow falls on it indicating the presence of an intruder.
This project has not successfully met its main objective due to lack of availability of some components such as a photo transistor L14F1 which is the main sensor that was supposed to be used to give out an ideal output so as to activate the alarm.
